Bradford Grammar School review by University of Cambridge student.
I think that the academic side of Bradford Grammar School (BGS) was brilliant. The classes were small and friendly, the teachers very enthusiastic, and the quality of teaching on the whole very good. The Philosophy/Religious Studies classes were a little unimpressive compared to larger subjects such as Maths and Science. Whilst exam success was most definitely a huge priority, the school recognised the need for skill development. For example, we had a number of classes that were never examined (such as general studies). On the whole, my studies there gave me a good foundation to progress to university level, both socially and academically.

Also, I was a tour guide for two years and at the end of every tour, we were asked to evaluate the candidate so if you think the tour is not apart of the process, you are very wrong. Ask questions and be interested. Also, tip for the parents: the kids speak on the tour. Do not ask their questions for them...
Most younger siblings have an easy time in the admissions process. I can only think of one case of a younger sibling not being admitted. About half of the students who entered with me had come from public schools. The remainder came from private K-6 schools, or had transferred from other New York private schools The Elizabeth Morrow School and St. Bernard were two of the larger feeder schools...
Quality of life varies greatly depending on which year of the school you are in. Generally, school life improves dramatically after 16 when you are in sixth form, as you get much more independence and can be a lot more flexible with school clothing. There is a fantastic new sixth form centre which is beautiful and has seating areas, a small shop, a piano and so on. It is all very sociable. Ethnically, the school is quite diverse, perhaps reflecting the cultural diversity of Bradford, the city in which it is situated. The environment is lovely with big school grounds,....
