Delbarton Schoolreview by Princeton University student. The academic program is very competitive and offers intellectually challenging courses featuring some of the best teachers I've ever had. The school's teaching philosophy strives to teach mind, body, and spirit. The classes were small and the conversation was engaging. The students are extremely gifted and the teachers are always open to offer help.

  • "They have contacts at most of the major universities and feel perfectly comfortable picking up the phone and advocating for a student to get accepted somewhere they feel is a good fit for that student. However, these counselors are certainly not magic bullets. They cannot guarantee that a student will get into an Ivy League university…"

The remainder came from private K-6 schools, or had transfered from other New York private schools The Elizabeth Morrow School and St. Bernard's were two of the larger feeder schools…"

Also, I was a tour guide for two years and at the end of every tour, we were asked to evaluate the candidate so if you think the tour is not apart of the process, you are very wrong. Ask questions and be interested. Also, tip for the parents*the kids speak on the tour. Don't ask their questions for them because their evaluation will be affected by the fact that the guides didn't hear a thing from the kid…"

School Life

School spirit for Delbarton is ardent which is understandable considering the positive atmosphere and contagious energy that vibrates through campus. The resources that the school offers are abundant. The young men are well disciplined and go on to be leaders in their surrounding neighborhoods. Longstanding traditions are passed down from year to year.

Everyone participates in extracurricular activities. From football to debate, students rarely leave campus when the last class of the day finishes. Organizations like Model UN are very well respected as well as athletic teams like the lacrosse team which is one of the top programs in the country.
