Maret School review by Bowdoin College student.
Academically, Maret is an amazing place to be. The program is incredibly flexible, so if there are students outpacing the curriculum, Maret adapts to those students. The science and math departments are really strong and even students in introductory courses get extensive lab time. For math classes, the different tracks help to place students in math levels that are appropriate. Maret also has a great humanities program with a lot of really cool electives. Personally, I didn't really like the mandatory American Literature class. The humanities electives are similar to freshman seminars at the collegiate level and prepared me for college level writing.

Also, I was a tour guide for two years and at the end of every tour, we were asked to evaluate the candidate so if you think the tour is not apart of the process, you are very wrong. Ask questions and be interested. Also, tip for the parents: the kids speak on the tour. Do not ask their questions for them...
Most younger siblings have an easy time in the admissions process. I can only think of one case of a younger sibling not being admitted. About half of the students who entered with me had come from public schools. The remainder came from private K-6 schools, or had transferred from other New York private schools The Elizabeth Morrow School and St. Bernard were two of the larger feeder schools...
Maret is really not a cliquey place. There are people that you definitely spend more time with, but everyone is pretty approachable. Also, Maret is extremely liberal, to a point where conservatives might feel unwelcomed. People tend to be very wealthy and they don't fully understand or even think about their position of privilege. Wealth will dictate friend groups unintentionally, but it doesn't affect the quality of your social life. In addition, Maret is more diverse than comparable schools such as Sidwell and GDS. Yet, Maret still has a lot of hurdles to jump when it comes to diversity. All....
