Middlesex School review by Dartmouth College student.
Middlesex is known for its rigorous, yet successful academics. While the workload may at times be somewhat overwhelming, the quality education that students receive is well worth the effort. The school's English department is definitely its strong suit, especially when complemented by an excellent writing program. While maths and sciences are also strong, Middlesex's weakest department is foreign languages. Extremely small class size, as well as easily accessible faculty members make this school's academic program well rounded and strong.

Ask questions and be interested. Also, tip for the parents: the kids speak on the tour. Do not ask their questions for them...
Most younger siblings have an easy time in the admissions process. I can only think of one case of a younger sibling not being admitted. About half of the students who entered with me had come from public schools. The remainder came from private K-6 schools, or had transferred from other New York private schools The Elizabeth Morrow School and St. Bernard were two of the larger feeder schools...
Middlesex students come from all different walks of life. While the school tends to attract upper- middle- class families, their is a fair share of financial aid students who add tremendously to the community. Facilities and dormitories are top notch and the food isn't half bad. The school is located in Concord, MA, a small, historic, safe town located roughly 15 minutes from Boston. While the school tries hard to provide its students with fun activities, the everyday drown of student life can be very repetitive. In addition, Saturday day classes can be very hard for unsuspecting students to deal....
