St. George's School review by Georgetown University student.
Academic Strengths: Faculty always available for independent study if you finished the normal coursework within the department. So always ways to challenge yourself. Academic Weaknesses: Weak history department professors. Also, the school does not emphasize the arts enough, in my opinion. Atmosphere of student body: Obviously very competitive compared to public school and courses can be challenging if you are a driven person. But overall students are pretty laid back. I think the SG academic programs prepared me very well. I can't think of any specific examples, but I do not feel at all behind at Georgetown.

Also, I was a tour guide for two years and at the end of every tour, we were asked to evaluate the candidate so if you think the tour is not apart of the process, you are very wrong. Ask questions and be interested. Also, tip for the parents: the kids speak on the tour. Do not ask their questions for them...
Most younger siblings have an easy time in the admissions process. I can only think of one case of a younger sibling not being admitted. About half of the students who entered with me had come from public schools. The remainder came from private K-6 schools, or had transferred from other New York private schools The Elizabeth Morrow School and St. Bernard were two of the larger feeder schools...
Most students are very rich, and a small percentage 20% i feel like are unable to afford weekend dinners etc that many kids enjoy. My experience at SG was a love hate because I made so many long term friends but i didnt get to know any teachers other than my advisor and there was no time to develop my interests. After class, sports, it'd be around 7pm and 8pm would be when study hall would begin....
