Webb Schools review by Bryn Mawr College student.
Webb's academic program is phenomenal. The work load is certainly intense, and time management/organizational skills is something forced upon each student from the start. Webb rears each of its student into well-rounded, intelligent, hard-working individuals who can balance the unthinkable and still come out ahead. Webb is all about challenging yourself and pushing yourself far beyond your limits. The academic environment can be quite stressful, however competition is more within each individual to push themselves. The community practices a healthy competition amongst students, however everyone in general is very supportive and encouraging of each other. The faculty are so supportive and caring, however they set very high expectations for their students. The majority of faculty live on campus and in the dorms and are on campus literally 24/7. Faculty members do not have lives outside of Webb -- they are on campus 24/7, either teaching, coaching, supervising, counseling, etc.

For the interview, dress conservatively. Try to be very clean and put together. Also, I was a tour guide for two years and at the end of every tour, we were asked to evaluate the candidate so if you think the tour is not apart of the process, you are very wrong. Ask questions and be interested. Also, tip for the parents: the kids speak on the tour. Do not ask their questions for them...
Most younger siblings have an easy time in the admissions process. I can only think of one case of a younger sibling not being admitted. About half of the students who entered with me had come from public schools. The remainder came from private K-6 schools, or had transferred from other New York private schools The Elizabeth Morrow School and St. Bernard were two of the larger feeder schools...
