Webb Schools review by Harvard University student.
The Webb Schools is innovative in the realm of gender studies in education. When I say that, I mean that upon entering Webb as a freshman, most of your classes will be single gender. As you progress throughout the years and get into more advanced classes, they will become more integrated having most everyone fully integrated in their classes by junior year of high school. This is important due to the recent research saying that around the ages of 14 and 15 years of age, it is easier and more beneficial for boys and girls to learn in single-gender settings, creating more comfortable environments. The class sizes are small with lots of faculty attention and extra help for students outside the classroom. Classes are very interactive and student involvement is highly encouraged. The science department provides many research opportunities due to the technological equipment available to the students and the paleontology museum and observatory on campus. There are also special school days such as "Unbounded Thinkers Day," "Men in the Arena," and "Dies Mulieres," in which normal classes are canceled and instead students enjoy a day of speakers, activities, and field trips. This was an environment very different from the public school that I came come and this is where I thrived.

Sample insights on college counseling
They have contacts at most of the major universities and feel perfectly comfortable picking up the phone and advocating for a student to get accepted somewhere they feel is a good fit for that student. However, these counselors are certainly not magic bullets. They cannot guarantee that a student will get into an Ivy League university...
For those wishing to move on to Oxford or Cambridge, the provision is second-to-none. For the interview, dress conservatively. Try to be very clean and put together. Also, I was a tour guide for two years and at the end of every tour, we were asked to evaluate the candidate so if you think the tour is not apart of the process, you are very wrong. Ask questions and be interested. Also, tip for the parents: the kids speak on the tour. Do not ask their questions for them...
Most younger siblings have an easy time in the admissions process. I can only think of one case of a younger sibling not being admitted. About half of the students who entered with me had come from public schools. The remainder came from private K-6 schools, or had transferred from other New York private schools The Elizabeth Morrow School and St. Bernard were two of the larger feeder schools...
The campus is beautiful. 77-acres of nature and school buildings, including faculty houses and dormitories. The dorms are pretty nice and definitely have rooms bigger than most college students see. From a girls dormitory perspective, the dorms were nice and clean and a great size. They are in the process of remodeling most of the dorms currently, so I think they are getting even better. You usually have one roommate until you get a single your senior year. The boys are different, so I cannot tell you much about them. The dining hall food is impressive. I still miss the....
