Choate Rosemary Hall review by Trinity College student: Choate has a very strong academic profile. In my opinion, I feel that the school does not choose to put all of its resources into one aspect of education, it strives to offer outstanding classes in every subject. While I attended Choate, I took classes in just about every subject that was offered. By trying out new classes, I discovered that I was very interested in economics. CRH offers an extensive course selection that was not offered at my public high school. If I had not transfered to Choate, I would not have been able to explore my interests in economics and entrepreneurship. The students at Choate are very competitive in the class room, but in my opinion this drives students to work harder. The discussion based atmosphere of most classes keeps students involved and focused in class. By having a discussion based classroom, students are forced to voice their opinions and contribute to the class if they expect to receive a satisfactory grade. The mandatory study hours and availability of teachers helped me to learn and correct this problem. Every night underclassmen have a mandatory two hour study block. Addtionally, teachers are ALWAYS available to meet with students for extra help. All teachers have required office hours, during which students can visit them for extra help or just to have a more in depth discussion of the class material. Something that I will never forget about my time at Choate was the teachers willingness to help;teachers open up there homes to students as well. If you are struggling with a class, teachers often invite you to there homes and give. read more »
