Blair Academy review by Wesleyan University student.
Blair Academy has its strengths all across the academic board and is a very competitive program, but at the same time designed to see that students that put in the effort are able to succeed. I was well prepared for college because it is a boarding school and as I progressed through the school, classes became more difficult and helped me in the adjustments necessary to go from high school to college. Class sizes on average were about 12 students and teachers made courses that would adapt to the needs of all students so it wasn't necessarily exam factory.

Ask questions and be interested. Also, tip for the parents: the kids speak on the tour. Do not ask their questions for them...
Most younger siblings have an easy time in the admissions process. I can only think of one case of a younger sibling not being admitted. About half of the students who entered with me had come from public schools. The remainder came from private K-6 schools, or had transferred from other New York private schools The Elizabeth Morrow School and St. Bernard were two of the larger feeder schools...
The quality of life was amazing and it was one of the few boarding schools where I can say the food was really good. Dorms were above average and really catered to student life. The neighborhood is a quiet little town where the people of the town and the students of the school interact in a very friendly manner. The school is quite diverse with people coming from all aspects of life and from all across the globe. The weekends often offer an array of activities that students can partake in as well....
